With the help of the National Zoos Asian elephants and the Black and rufous elephant shrew, kids will also become familiar with other measurement terms such as longer, shorter, taller, bigger, and smaller. These free programs are designed for young children and early childhood classrooms across the country to join and learn together. Programs are developed with the National Head Start Association,but welcomeall young children and caregivers, from individuals and families topreschools, schools, or daycares. All virtual field trips can be enjoyed as standalone events, but are also supported by additional activities you can use in the classroom or at home. These activities, which may include art projects, science activities, discussion ideas, book suggestions, or additional video content, are developed by educators from across all 21 Smithsonian museums and centers. All virtual programs take place as Zoom webinars.Individual participants' audio and video are disabled, but children and adults can submit comments andquestions to the hosts during the program using the chat features.
