The Bat: A Harold in the Dark

Saturdays, May 2 - June 6 (off 5/23), 2 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Graduation show June 13 at 3:15 p.m. in the Improv lounge showroom. Prerequisite: Some Harold training or permission of the instructor and principal. The BAT is an advanced format piece that takes place entirely in the dark! Working with instructor Chris Ulrich, the class will focus on ensemble building by developing the BAT as a performance piece, loosely based off of the Harold. The BAT is filled with amazing soundscapes, and sound cues to generate themes, ideas, and concepts to associate off of and create a performance piece of the mind for an audience. The piece takes place completely in the dark. The BAT gives you, the improviser, the opportunity to sharpen your improv skills, increase fearlessness and decrease mental limitations that may be in the way of elevating your performance. It will call on you to marshal every improv skill you have and push you to grow further. All sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges. Admission Policies Patrons must be 18 or older to attend events or classes at the DC Improv. Any exceptions are clearly noted in the event descriptions on dcimprov.com.
